A question about : Double glazing cost- does this seem about right, or too cheap?

Hi all. - I had a quote today for some double glazing. I thought it seemed reasonably cheap, and a couple of friends have said it is WAY too cheap. - almost to the point of ' if it's too good to be true' ...

Anyway- the quote is for 13 windows-

3x3 bays - all pretty large.
4 times single windows - all about a metre wide and 150 cm tall.

Was quoted - Ј3000- any thoughts?

• Not a bad price IMO
  Local fitter?
  Insurance backed guarantee?
  FENSA registered and will provide paperwork?
  Will provide reciept?
  You could call Anglian in if you want to spend Ј30,000 (down to Ј12,000 depepnding on how many calls they make to their manager)
• I wouldn't do it for that price but not seen the job . about a grand short . depending on the fit JC808. you say local fitter ? Like its a demand
• I would always choose a local fitter instead of !!!!ing about with the big boys

  I had my windows done for about 4k I think it was and a front/ back door but no bays. 11 windows IIRC and was about three yers ago
• Another good price . sometimes a decent bay can be easier and cheaper than say 3 or 5 separate windows . you need to be better with a tape measure though ( and an angle finder ) .
• Did they say what window system they'd be fitting?? It sounds a bit cheap to me.
• Thanks all for the responses - Apologies for nor getting back sooner- I thought I had set up notifications to this thread for responses but clearly not...!
  They did not say which window system to be fitted - naive on this sort of thing.. but did arrange for all but a couple to be opening - and trickle vents on all (although I guess this is pretty standard)
  Yes to local fitter - not clear on FENSA registered or not though - they did do a friends windows some time ago, adn they look pretty good to me.
• If your happy go for it . good price . you can look up if they/he are fensa reg'd on line or just ask them . Its not that important personally especially as they have been around with good jobs behind them .
