A question about : Does having a appointee affect ones benefits?

I was diagnosed with bipolar some years ago while inpatient in hospital and it was decided my money and benefits should be handled through a appointee by social services and I agreed with it, so they know receive my benefits on my behalf , my SW says I was put in the support group on the basis of having this appointee, is this true, does it give you credit by having one? Would getting it annulled affect my benefits, how many points in it on ESA when you can't manage your money?

Best answers:

  • Being unable to manage money is also a criteria for additional points for PIP.
  • I'm really fed up with my appointee, I was meant to be paid Ј40 Today into my account and their was a glitch at the bank and it got rejected which has left me without any money again, I never had this problem when the DWP paid my benefits into my bank account, it was always there. I'm fed up.
Oh and another thing, social services are my appointee and they never told me my award for the support group of ESA, I found out indecently last month, I was awarded SG September in 2013 so over one year still thinking I was on IB.
  • Are you able to manage your own financial affairs?
  • Yes I think can.
  • then tell them so
