A question about : Do I have to report mileage for voluntary work to tax credits?
Hi
I have started voluntary work where I get mileage back at 40p per mile. I don't get paid for the work, just mileage (for petrol) and envisage that I would do no more than 50 miles a week.
My hubby works full time and we get working tax and child tax credits. Do I have to report the money I get back for mileage to Tax Credits?
Thanks in advance for any help.
x
Best answers:
- No, it's expenses not income, and within the HMRC allowance (assuming it's a car and you don't do over 10,000 miles)
- Thank you for your reply x
