A question about : a DMP journey

Hi everyone long term lurker here, through the things I had read on here we started a DMP with Stepchange in September last year ,it was the best thing I ever did ,and in for the very long haul but you never know things can change .Following the great advice on here , before I notified anyone I changed bank accounts home and mobile phone no's. I had run up cc debts and a couple of bank loans which were very manageable until our circumstances changed and we had a drastic drop in our income .The problems had been going on for a while and I was trying to keep going ,ever the optimist thinking things would improve , that a lottery win was just round the corner ,and sadly it wasn't. I had never heard of a DMP never heard of Stepchange the nights I had lay awake worrying .And then by chance came on this site and found a solution, I thought it was too good to be true ,I was so ashamed that I had got us into this mess ,I had always handled the finances and felt I had let my husband down ,so I didn't tell him the situation we were in, I was carrying the burden alone .I didn't want to disappoint him eventually I plucked up the courage to tell him and give him the solution too .So here we are 6 months into our DMP ,struggling but I feel cleansed in a strange way ,our income has reduced again so I contacted Stepchange what lovely people they are they will again contact our creditors for us ,we have had no hassle from any of our creditors all have stopped interest all in all it has been a very positive thing for us . I need to tackle the mortgage next as we have borrowed from that and have not got long left on it before this money needs to be paid back .So I am going to make a payment a day to my mortgage fund starting Monday at least if I pay something every day its better than nothing I will try and update every couple of days keep my self motivated

If you have been lurking on the diaries you will already know how fantastic everyone is - personally It was like a lifeline for me.
Well done on taking the steps to contact SC and start the DMP - and wishing you the best of luck on your journey. Keeping the diary really helps.
