A question about : Discount Network Railcard?

Hi
Does anyone know of any discounts on railcards?
Thanks

Best answers:

  • If it's a NRC you need (as per your header) they are already discounted per se-
You'll save 1/3rd of all fares you buy with them.
Be careful and check the conditions however as they are not valid all the time for all fares, there are time, minimum fare and locational restrictions.

The Tocs don't usually offer these any cheaper, the only cards that tend to have discounts now & then are YP cards (NUS discount) and sometimes the Senior railcard.
  • Thanks timbo - I saw an offer of the friends & family reduced so was taking a punt on the network one!
  • I never pay full price for my friends and family one. Newspaper offers a free one, then half price from memory after the free three months.
But never seen more than Ј3 off on the others.
And I searched high and low looking for a discount on the twos company card for my son and gf
  • Annual season ticket holders with a Gold Card can purchase one Railcard (including Network cards|) per year for Ј10 (it used to be Ј1 last year). But that's still half price. Can be in the name of a friend or family member.
  • Some times you can get a reduction on Senior Railcards by purchasing at your local authority. Certainly true where I live.
  • You can also get most Railcards (but not a Network one) for half price by using Tesco Clubcard Boost.
  • Several years ago, South West Trains ran a promotion (or possibly two) offering Network Railcards at half price, but I haven't come across anything similar since.
