A question about : dental charges-cheaper in europe?
I am visiting Portugal soon, would their dental charges be cheaper than uk ;D
Best answers:
- don't know about Portugal but certainly are in Spain..indeed many people now and have their routine checks done...lots of english/danish dentists..
standards and skills generally higher (but some disqualified rogues also so need to take care) as are facilities...even small towns have facilities for doing all round x-rays
e.g. i spent 8 months here trying to get some cosmetic work...including visiting 2 Dental professors at a leading dental teaching hospital. They said it would require a minimum 2 years orthodontics first, would take 3 years overall and removing one particular tooth would be very tricky. The quotes I had were over Ј20K
my spanish dentist referred me to a Dane in Marbella who we checked out carefully. all done perfectly and painlessly in under 2 months
was very worried the day he was to do the 'tricky' tooth...had the injection (in uk would have been a general anaesthetic) , was chatting away, saw some thread in his hand and asked him what it was for...he said just needs a few stitches..he'd removed the tooth and I didn't even realise it.
Total cost...under Ј7K
