A question about : Default notice removal

Hello - Back in 2013 i missed a 2 payments on my phone 4 u contract and resulted in a debt being created for Ј200 , This was record as a default ( repaid after 2 months).

My issue is that I can not now renew my mortgage deal for this small amount that occurred years ago. the punishment doesnt seem to fit the crime

I have rang vodaphone who are quite heartless and will not remove the notice.

Does any one have any advise on how to remove it ?

  • Complain and take them to the ICO and communications ombudsman if they dont remove it.

  • It does seem unduly hasty and disproportionate. A credit card might put up with a year or two or three of agreeing reduced arrangements and seeing them slip before reaching recording a default.

  • Thanks Redux ,
Yes , They have their money and i have never had any issue uptill that pooint was again due to being mis infomred - I have only had poor customer service and communication issue with Vodafone .
    Hence the above comment.
I just feel its a bit of a harsh pently vs its implications for the next 6 years ! Just asking vodaphone to have a heart
  • Lee i have a emailing saying it has been recived
  • Something similar happened to me. My husband decided to go down the sequestration route so a woman came in and explained how it would work. Now as some were joint debts she told me DO NOT pay them revert them to me. I did this and it was only after speaking to a helpful lady at the bank that she told me I was still liable for the debt! Something this woman failed to mention. Now I'm left with defaults in my credit file. The debt was paid off and would of been much sooner if I'd known. Is there anything I can do to get the defaults removed?
  • Just an update:
I have spoken to Vodaphone several times and had a heartless reply back ! despite having not missed one payment up untill they said my account was closed !!! they refuse to remove the defult notice !
I have offerd to pay admin fee , show letters from mortage !!
My mortgage will now not be renewed and face loosing my house !!!
All over Ј100 that i paid back in 2013 !!!!!!
i have been put through to 5 diffrent people in space of 1 hour ! promised call back and they never came !!!
Vofaphone does not care about the individual customer !
  • Correct vodfone dont care
They have reps on this forum but they only seem to be here in a face saving show of pretending to care.
In reality they dont give a sh##t.
  • You may as well an official compant to the
    ICO https://ico.org.uk/concerns/handling/
    and
    the communications ombudsman https://www.ombudsman-services.org/communications.html
They might get vodafone to pay notice.
  • Are you sure its a default and not just a late payment marker, it would seem odd for them to issue a defulat for just 2 missed payments.
  • Yes it is def a default.
I think im just going to have give up , Obv wont be using vodaphone again ! such a poor none customer focued company !
  • Why give up before youve tried the ombudsman and the iCO? That makes no sense.
