A question about : CSA Refund
Hi, I wonder if you can help. My husband has been paying CSA payments for his two daughters which ended in September 2014, as we thought. I rang as soon as we knew his daughter had finished college and was in full time employment, to inform them. They took over three months to look into it and then we had a phone call that told him he was due an overpayment of Ј2,700 because it actually went back to 2013. We had no idea whether that was right or wrong and I asked them on numerous occasions was this definitely right and they said yes it was and we duly received a cheque in a letter confirming all this dated 3rd December, which also said that the case was now closed.
We then had a phone call last week to inform us that they had, in fact, made a mistake and that the case should only have closed as of September 2014. On two occasions now, in two separate phone calls they admitted it was their fault, it was their error, and they hold their hands up it was their mistake !!!! As it is their mistake and not ours, as we did not provide them with any dates whatsoever, and they admitted their error, can they now make us pay that money back????
I would really appreciate any information at all. thanks.
