A question about : Credit rating (need a free check)

Is this in the right forum? If not can someone please advise?

3 years ago I checked with Experia for my credit check. It was a valuable service and enabled me to sort my files out before I rented a new house...

I tried to change my busienss bank account to a new bank but got rejected as a default come up on my file..? I can accept this, and know there might be one.... But I want to get it cleaned out.... As in the future a might need to apply for certain credit etc....

Experia now are asking me to pay Ј14.99n a month. Not much but I'd rather not pay that..

Can anyone suggest a different company that will do this??
And also that will enable me to get hands on and clean it up???

Thank You..

  • Send off for your Ј2 Statutory Credit Reports - therefore not risking paying for a monthly service after the "free" initial period:
    Callcredit:

    Experian:
    https://www.experian.co.uk/downloads/...t-App-Form.pdf
    Equifax:
    https://www.equifax.co.uk/Products/cr..._file_0310.pdf
I sent cheques, but you could send postal orders for the 3.
    Good luck,

  • Hi - Can you just explain the Ј2 reports.... Are they just a bite sized look at your report...??? Or are they in depth????
  • You can order a statutory Experian report online here.

  • Is this worth getting then????
Will it let me see what the main issues are????
And will it let me correct them?/
Or will I have to pay the Ј14.99 in order to get it sorted??
  • This is what your after. Used it myself after being in the same situation. It's actually better than experian, as it includes all 3

  • These are paper copies of the full record held by the three CRA on you. I do not know what bells and whistles the CHARGED web-sites would show over and above the paper copies. But this a money saving web-site, so being charged monthly 7-times what you can get once for Ј2 seems odd to me.
Obviously, the CRA would prefer you to pay monthly.
Last Monday I posted the three application forms and Experian arrived by Thursday, Call Credit on Saturday and Equifax yesterday.

  • Really again, asking for card details.....
I'm such not a massive fan of this.....
Why does it really want my card details????
  • checkmyfile is completely free when you cancel within a month. I can confirm that this is the case.
    --------
They want your card details to
    - check its you
    - bill you after the 30 days if you havent already cancelled.
When your logged in there is a big cancel button under your account details. They make it suprisingly easy
  • LOL!
I know its me. I have entered all the correct details but they cannot confirm its me!
They are sending a letter with an activation key instead.
  • OK I got it, but making sense of it
I obviously will not disclose ANY information on here, but can someone please tell me what I should be looking out for in terms of 'Am I in the good or the bad' etc????

I have read that anything below 400 is regarded as bad?
The 'Checkmycredit' site seems good, I can see all the info from all 3 CRA's, but just making sense of it all now really...
I really want to clean this up...
    Any tips??
