A question about : Credit Card to improve credit rating
Hello;
I had a lump sum IVA agreed April 2012, it was completed and I got a certificate in August 2012. I have been debt free since.
My credit rating is currently poor, and I would like to improve if possible. I am thinking potentially taking up a credit card to spend a small amount on and pay off in full every month.
Has anyone in a similar situation to me been able to obtain a credit card and if so have you a recomendation? I expect they would be extremally high interest rate, but I would pay off every month so shouldnt be an issue,
many thanks in advance
Cody
Best answers:
- 'Vanquis' and 'Aqua' are two that I am aware of.
Got a Vanquis card myself - no complaints. 39%apr though.
Just pay it off each month in full to avoid interest payments. - vanquis are worth a try.
Have you cleaned up your credit file and confirmed you have been removed from the insolvency register? - I have a Vanquis for this same reason. Only downside is the constant calls trying to sell you extra's afterwards. Other than that no complaints
