A question about : Crashplan online backup up to 96% off

I've just signed up for this:

https://www.crashplan.com/bigsale/

Right now at time of typing, it's at $2.40 for an unlimited storage account for 1 year.

Crashplan basically is a piece of software you can install on your computer which will then automatically upload all your documents/files and safely store them in the 'cloud'. The point is if heaven forbid your computer blows up, stolen/whatever then your files are safely stored online and you can restore them.

I've lost count of the amount of friends who have lost important photos of their kids etc having never realised hard disks in PC's are the most common thing to break.

At $2.40 for peace of mind, it's a no brainer.

Best answers:

  • That is a steal.
I'd buy, although i found the interface to be really clunky, and to back up all my data would take a lot longer than a year!!
  • Review at https://review.techworld.com/storage/...cmp=rv-ia-tb-4
  • I got a free months trial of this, this past summer. Bear in mind I have a rubbish internet speed and thousands of pictures, it stuck at 66 days to backup over the whole trial It's definitely better than nothing if you never backup and have smaller amounts to save, in my case a new external hard drive was the way to go.
