A question about : Craft Fairs

Hi,

Please can anybody help. I'm looking to learn how to make flower arrangements out of artificial flowers and sell them at craft fairs. I'm stuck with two things at the moment - trying to find an evening class that teaches you how to do this and also where to get information on when and where craft fairs are held.

Does anybody have any experience in this?

thanks

Best answers:

  • At the moment where i live there are lots of advertisements on craft fairs with numbers to ring to arrange a stall. Try the local papers, or drive around, theres lots of road side signs about them.
To do flower arrangements try your local college. I would presume its flower arranging with real flowers but the same applies.
  • To be honest, if you've got the eye for it, a good book is all you need to do it for a hobby/craft fair. I'd recommend this one, although it's for fresh flowers:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Encyclopaedi...6337625&sr=1-2
I did my own wedding flowers from it and I'm not a florist.
Remember to use the grey-brown oasis for dried or silk flowers.
  • "The Craftsman - craft&design" lists fair organisers and coming events - it can be a pain to get hold of, but some branches of Smiths stock it. The current issue has a white front cover with blue and green panels on it.
Or just run a google search for "craft fair organisers" - most of the groups that work use it, just ignore the internet craft fair one, and make sure you limit it to a UK search!
