A question about : Council Tax Rebanding: 2006/7 new build
Am looking into a house purchase, of an apartment which is in the region of Ј75k at the moment. It was a new build a the peak time of 2006-2007 where, when new, these were sold new for in the region of Ј115k, so theres been enormous depreciation.
These are all band 'B' properties based on that valuation and a 1991 era calculation.
However, based on the current Ј75k value, said 1991 recalculation is easily a band 'A' property, so is this grounds for an appeal and a re-banding??...
Best answers:
- Buy the flat first then worry about the CT band. What the flat sold for in 2006 or will sell for in 2015 is immaterial, it is what other flats of a similar type and size sold for in 1991.
- As I said in my first post, the 2006/7 sale price is immaterial, how does the band compare with other flats of a similar size and type, especially any built from late 1980s to early 2000s.
Changes in economic climate and fluctuating house prices are not a reason for a CT band review.
