A question about : cost to repair someones car

hi, just looking for some advice please, I had a small bump in the school car park this morning, totally my fault, I told the lady to let me know the cost of repair, which she has, however she is friendly with the guy doing the work, so worried im getting done. I know I can ask for another quote but really do I have a leg to stand on?

• my excess is 250, cost is Ј180, its an original shape focus, it has a bump to bumper(no dent)just scrape and paint damage, apparently there is a crack in it and it needs to be too back to bone?
• Ј180 sounds pretty reasonable to be fair.
  Remember you don't pay an excess unless you are claiming for damage to your own vehicle in which case you'll pay your excess before you collect your car. Third party claims are subject to no excess.
• ah I see, sorry im a novice! ive just passed my test over a year so would rather avoid involving my insurance tbh?

• Ask her if she's told her insurer. If she had you do the same. If she hadn't then agree neither of you do and forget it ever happened
