A question about : completesave.co.uk

Hi

Just wanted to warn people about completesave.co.uk.
Last February I made a purchase from play.com using my credit card. After completing the purchase, another screen popped up saying something about vouchers with a certain percentage off the next purchase. I did not take much notice and just closed the page. It seems that completesave.co.uk signed me up for monthly voucher, which I never received, charging me 10.00 GBP per months. I should have checked my credit card bills more vigorously!! This has gone on for about a year! If they had actually sent me any vouchers, I would have known and cancelled the subscription!!

I think it is really awful the way they have taken my credit card details and just charged my card. They claim that they get costumers to register with them and it is all clear. However it is really sneaky. I just wanted to share this story with everyone here so that you are more careful especially when using play.com

If anyone knows of a way to get my money back I would be grateful.

thanks

  • Ask Completesave...
So much of a scam that they have a 0800 number to call them 0800 389 6960.
They also send emails (ALWAYS CHECK SPAN/JUNK FOLDER) daily.
So for a whole year you did not notice Ј10 being taken?
You only get a voucher for you next purchase at the retailer you were at when signed up.
For everything wlse you go via their site for discounts of purchases.
  • I have just been caught out by this [Text removed by MSE Forum Team]. I am an OAP with very poor eyesight due to diabetes and having just come out of hospital I checked my bank statements for April and found Ј10 deducted which I could not trace. I dont remember buying anything for at least three months before I was ill. I really cant afford this on my state pension of Ј112 per week but according to my bank (Barclays) I cant stop the payments and Computersave wont reply to me or answer my questions about how this payment was set up. I am not so elderly as to forget if I have signed up for this sort of thing. Please help me if you know how I get them off my back.

  • They need to be closed down. It s nothing more than a clever phishing scam. everything about this company is just wrong and they know it. They are evasive and hard to communicate with as they ask for your card details before they will even talk to you. They took Ј40 from my daughters account after she bought a train ticket online. She was conned into signing up for a Ј10 discount on the ticket. They will not refund her money, the bank was unhelpful so I had to close her bank account. Completesave do not issue you with an account number deliberately so that you cannot use it as a reference during communication. it is designed to take money from people and make it very difficult to cancel the membership.
  • I have just had a similar experience.
Sadly over the Christmas period I didn't notice that I was being charged Ј15.00 Per month for inadvertently signing up to something when trying to buy rail tickets through The Train line.com.I was conned into buying from Completesave
Train line say I signed up, I say I didn't.The Marks and Spencer credit card company have told me they would like to to this immoral mis-selling to be made illegal.
I am furious and will never ever use The train line company ever again.
I am trying to get my money back but its proving to be very very difficult.
I have cancelled any further payments through my credit card company but people need to be warned, its a con.
  • Just checked my business account and spotted Ј10 a month going out to this company. I would never have signed up to it! I'm also livid. They said that I booked a room at Travelodge and then signed up after that. I am 99.9999% I never did that. 22 payments!!! Grrr. They are emailing me a claim form.
