A question about : Club Seasons worth Ј2950.00..

Just received from clubseasons.co.uk offer of a prize to the value of Ј2950.00 in last months MyOffers/Seasons grand prize draw. Astounded ...never win anything and don't remember entering it!! I have to freephone them to authenticate the claim. I've had a look at the website and I think it's a membership to their club. Looks like I have to pay a maintenance fee yearly of Ј300+. However there seems to be quite a choice....bit like a timeshare. Anyway, not sure if I can afford it even though it looks like a good deal at the outset. I will let you know what's what later. title=Jumping

  • Has anyone taken them up on this offer? I'd like to think that it's worth it but, not having spare cash, I'd like to find out if anyone is in the same boat and has signed up and has found that it's worth the money. Thanks.
  • I 'won' this last year and was considering as you are what to do. There was quite a lot of discussions from members on other sites about clubseasons. If you google it you should find plenty of info. After reading some of the reviews we decided not to bother.
  • Thanks for that. I asked the travelman on this forum the question and he gave me the same advice and I've worked my finances out and it's not worth it by the time you buy flights etc......
  • I am sure you will win a genuine prize, with no cost involved soon.
    good luck

  • I have not had anything like this, but my thoughts on it are, if you have to pay out, then you haven't won a prize - if you'd won a competition, you would be \Given your prize.
  • Sorry what do you mean "And I work for"?
  • I had a look at their website ... if you haven't 'won' a free membership, you are paying £3300 for a one week of accomodation? Seems like the biggest rip-off I've ever seen!

  • It came as a signed for letter, so I thought it must be pretty genuine.
If so many people have won these, I'm a little worried that only one person has come back with any positive comment.
It's horrible being so scepticle but I just can't help it.
I've learnt so often that you don't get something for nothing, unless of course you've genuinely won a prize. If I have genuinely won a prize, how come I don't get any enjoyment out of it without paying money.
I haven't phoned them yet, but it is freephone so I probably will, but these posts have made me dubious now.
  • JUST WON MY HOLIDAY doh! well thought i had through myoffers prize draw turns out to be free timeshare membership. ITS SUCH A CON PAY FOR THIS AND PAY FOR THAT. whats the point of the membership if it costs the same as booking a holiday through a travel agents and without the management fees.
google crimeshare and read all about WASTE OF MONEY TIMESHARES
  • I have just rec the same, a letter to be signed for and an 0800 number, very rare for a scam, i have to say that Ј322 for 1 week in a year for 4 people is not a bad price BUT you are limited in the first year to the UK & Europe so this makes your 2nd week in the 2nd year to 70+ other locations rather costly, who would pay for 2 weeks away for Ј644 1 week in UK and 1 week elsewhere ???
and flights, which are the most expensive part of any holiday.
If you could sell it off to 4 people or 3 including yourself it may be worthwhile but who would do that to there nearest and dearest?
  • I have rung the freephone number and am very happy with what I will be getting. All i will say is go for it
  • I too have received a letter by recorded delivery telling me that I have won a prize worth 2950.00. I rang the freephone no and was told I'd won a week anywhere in the uk or Europe BUT had to pay a 'maintenance' charge of 161.00 (322.00 after year 1) per year. I am actually quite disappointed and I think that its a pretty similar sales technique that timeshare companies use when they say you've won a holiday in spain or wherever. I have declined the 'prize' and certainly won't enter any of their comps again. You should not end up paying anything if you are a 'winner' surely?
