A question about : Cheque Received For Unfair Bank Charges
After sending a second letter to by bank re unfair bank charges I received a cheque today for half the amount owed. I received a very long detailed letter saying that when I signed to open the account I agreed to stick to the terms and conditions ie having enough funds in the account to cover cheques and direct debits etc etc. I see their point (maybe I shouldnt!!) as we should have had the funds but when times are hard what can you do? And whatwith their bank charges it was constantly making things a hundred times worse. My question is do i just accept the cheque for Ј433.00, I had no letter offering me this just the actual cheque. We are in a lot better financial position now but the Ј433 looks good? Any advice?
Best answers:
- Make sure not to cash the cheque before you are sure you want the deal.
- Have been on the consumer action group website and have been advised to write and say that I accept this payment but will still persue them for the rest.
