A question about : cheapest place to live in Britain

Could anyone help me to find a cheapest place to live in England?

I mean cheap House price, rent, council tax, petrol price, parking, all utility prices and low price grocery supermarkets near by.

• Ah, but your subject line says "Britain" - can we include Wales..?
• Have you tried North Lincolnshire? Property prices in some areas are alot cheaper. There are many farm shops and petrol is reasonably priced.
• I live in North Manchester/East Lancashire and it`s pretty cheap here. Rochdale seems to have the lowest prices for petrol in the country, there are loads of cheap and well known supermarkets. House prices are very good for my town, Bacup, but I`ve been told its not that nice an area, although after living here I`ve not seen any crime.
• unfortunately i could never bring myself to recommend bacup, but it certainly is cheap, this entire East lancs area i think must be amongst the cheapest (im from burnley)
• As mentioned, parts of Lincolnshire - also most of Norfolk and (apparently) Weston-super-Mare in Somerset!
• My friend lives in Sheffield and she says its very cheap. However she is a student, I think she pays Ј45 a week (inc water bills) for her room in a student house. Considering in London I pay Ј75 (exc bills) and this is VERY cheap for students in London, I'd say Sheffield.
• for many years my home town of billingham (TS23) has the honour of being the cheapest place to live - you can still buy a houses in tesside - middlesbrough for less than Ј40K.

  Still some very cheap property there (Ex Mining Town), Purchased a 3 storey 4 Bed Mid Terrace there 5 years ago for Ј18k, and there is still plenty of property sub Ј40k
  Cheap food, several Food "Outlet" stores in the town centre sell Major Supermarket Close to sell buy overstocks for pennies (Ready meals that are Ј3.99 in the supermarket are often 3 for a quid), good cheap market in the town centre 3 times a week and boot sale on sat.
  We stayed there several years, cheap downmarket and did the job whilst we needed it..
  (it is a bit inbred, sorry it is!! Everyone is related, and no matter how long you live there you will be an outsiider unless you worked down the pit and your dad was in the miners strike!)

• how about gainsborough in lincolnshire you can get a 3 bed terraced for Ј35,000 and its being regenerated at the mo so it would be a wise investment.
• CARDBOARD city is the cheapest but a bit damp in the winter lol....
• I'd go with Billingham too. Hartlepool isn't that cheap anymore, it has "re-development" but last time i was there it had all been closed-down.
  The small mining villages on the coast south-east of middlesbrough are also v cheap (apart from car insurance?) used to be able to pick up a 4-bed house for 25k until a few years ago.
  I've just come back from Tokyo and this country is stupidly expensive compared to Japan....
