A question about : charleyd
I am a 69 yrs old female, retired. I receive roughly 50% of the state pension, the rest made up by Pension Credit. I also receive Housing Benefit.
I have been offered a part-time job for 6 hours a week at Ј6.20 per hour and understand that my Pension Credit would be reduced by the same amount. This is fine as I would rather be working.
But would my Housing Benefit also be reduced?
If so I could not take the job as I would not be able to afford to pay my rent. I rent from a private landlord and have to add part of my pension to my HB to cover the rent.
Many thanks,

- Hello charleyd
You can use www.turn2us.org.uk which has a benefits calculator and allows you to put in different scenarios to see how your housing benefits would be affected.
