A question about : Car broke after 2 months
Hi all,
I purchased a 07 Vauxhall Zafira for the family on 6th April 12 (2 months ago). It had a 3 month warranty.
Over the weekend, the gearbox broke. Took it to the garage who confirmed that the gearbox cables need replacing and the driveshaft seal need replacing as it is leaking. Total cost Ј300.
The warranty company state that the parts are not covered.
The company I purchased the car off don't want to know now they have my cash.
Any advice on what I can do to reclaim my Ј300 back from the car company I purchased the car from?
I have only had the car 2 months and expect it to last at least a few months before it goes wrong.
Regards

- the trouble with warranty's is that they really are not worth buying, everyting under the sun is promised by the dealer that if this or that goes its covere you have the diamond package of all items and then when you sit down and read the very fine small print everything a car has isnt covered.
seals and gaskets are not usuallt covered nor is cables of any sort.
but the burdon of proof the fault wasnt there at time of sale falls onto the dealer within the first 6 months.
but my query to you is that why did you not take it back to the dealer? and give him the opertunity to repair it?
communicate with the dealer, pehaps he will give you a good will payment back.
