A question about : Can't Seem To Connect To The Hut Via Their Phone Number?

(I'm not sure if this is the right Forum section, so feel free to move, if not title=Embarrassment).

I ordered two things from TheHut.com on 20th March for an upcoming birthday. All was well (I got a confirmation email suggesting that the items may come separately at no extra charge) and one item turned up last week. Odd thing was, there was no invoice.

I assumed the other item was going to turn up shortly. Nothing. The website won't allow me to bring up a query on their system as there are no outstanding orders (maddening, so I had to submit one under a different header).

Got a rather generic email reply this morning telling me to wait, but I'd like to SPEAK to someone! The 01606338578 number doesn't even ring or connect to anything!

Does anyone have a new or alternative number for The Hut (preferably a landline number)? Thank you.

Best answers:

  • Have you tried this: +44 (0) 8442 439 090
Apparently it is customer services (taken from their Facebook page)
  • Saw that one last night when I was hunting through a search engine.
I was hoping there would be a landline option (used that 01606 one in the past), as I get charged for 0844s. Oh well. I'll give it another week or so before submitting another query.
  • Might not work but try 01606 334655.
  • Thanks, Mandybham. That number does the same thing, I'm afraid. I appreciate you replying anyway.
  • The 0844 does connect, just tried it.
  • Your welcome, shame it didn't work but oh well and I wish you luck.
  • I'm starting to think that this is a 'rip off' company as I ordered two T-shirts from them which were offered with three pairs of boxer shorts at Ј30 discount which in effect made the boxer shorts free!
Only the T-shirts have been received and they are of such poor quality they would not make a decent duster!
Various website detail problems people have had similar to mine to I would not be surprised if my problem is not sorted in the near future!
  • I am having a problem with this company at the minute over the price of Fifa 14, I am going to get trading standards involved if I don't get a favourable response from them.
  • Glad I'm not the only one having problems with The Hut Group.
Their guaranteed next-day delivery is a joke and the customer service is certainly not helpful. Apologies are in short supply and on no occasion when I have complained has there been any gesture of goodwill on their part.
A friend also had a bad experience with them when he pre-ordered a computer game. Two days before the game was due to be released he received an email informing him that the order could not be fulfilled, but again there was no apology and no offer of goodwill forthcoming when he managed to speak with customer services.
  • Wish I had come across/found this thread BEFORE buying something from MANKIND - another of The Hut's evil empire. Zero customer service and a total disrespect of the DSR's (Distance Selling Regulations). I found their Customer Service (sic) number 0161 813 1484 buried deep in their Terms & Conditions. The staff are employed directly by The Hut Group so this number should allow you into their Customer Service and then be transferred. But my advice ? DON'T buy anything from The Hut or any of their many other outlets as they are NOT a customer friendly business. I am now proceeding to a formal complaint to their local Trading Standards office. BEWARE all the following websites probably use the same basic webshop software which has a bug in that you cannot review your order before it is concluded so any mistake is "yours" !! • If you paid over Ј100 on a credit card you may be able to get your money back from the CC company
I agree that this company has no consistent approach to customer service, the back end system that they operate, which manages all delivery components from start to finish is severely lacking.
They only care in profit and nothing else. There is nothing customer centric about them.
I would write to the CEO, Matthew Moulding, to complain.
