A question about : Cancellation Charges ?
I have booked a holiday for December and paid a deposit of Ј100, I have decided to cancel it and of course I know I will loose the deposit, but on checking the small print on the booking form I can see there may be an admin charge. The holiday is with Olympic Holidays, will I have to pay it, they surely will have enough time to resell the holiday doesnt seem right.
I am going to ring to cancel but does anyone know if they can make me pay this.

- I don't think many people will see this as it is not in the correct forum.
Yes, of course they can charge an admin fee if it is mentioned in the T&Cs that you agreed to at the time of booking.
You may wish to check that this wasn't a 'low deposit' scheme as if so, you will be required to pay extra to make up the full amount of the deposit upon cancellation. - Olympics deposit (when booked through an agent) is the same Ј50.00, and we have never been charged anything higher.
There are 2 things i think that could be of relevance here though.
1. THe 'admin fee' you mention is normally only if you amend a holiday, and this is the fee that they charge. Sometimes, if its within 8 weeks of departure, to amend a holiday is counted as a cancellation & re-book, however we are obviously not within this period.
2. was the holiday booked through someone else, who then booked it via Olympic? If so, the admin fee may be a charge from the intermediatary company, as a way of protecting their commission / fee for the time spent working on & administering your booking.
If, however, your booking is directly with Olympic, then i would be pretty confident that if you cancel then the loss of what you have paid will be the only charge.
