A question about : Can I use the tube portion of a train ticket later in the day?
I'm travelling from Manchester to London Zone 6 on an advance train ticket. The train ticket says Manchester to 'U1256 Londn'. I have a reservation card for a specific train for travelling from Manchester to Euston. I have now got some plans in central London during the day and so want to travel to Zone 6 later in the day. Will I be able to use the tube part of the train ticket later the same day as there isn't a specific train/time listed for that part of the journey - or do I need to use it as soon as I arrive at Euston? Does it make any difference if I use it at a peak or off-peak time?
Best answers:
- Yes, you can use it on any tube that day, you'll have to exit the barriers at Euston anyway to enter the tube station. The tube validity is not time limited.
- For "advance" tickets, some off-peak tickets (singles and outward portions), this is not allowed. It is referred to as a "break of journey".
- LU will be happy to accept your ticket for one journey between Euston and any station within Zones 1-6 at any time that day.
