A question about : Buying InterRail pass
My son is going backpacking around Europe in May so I have included him on my Halifax Clarity Credit Card to save him money on transaction fees.
He needs to buy an InterRail pass and on the website they give two sets of prices, in EUR (376 euros) and GBP (Ј319). But 376 euros is more like Ј309 so obviously he would lose money buying in GBP. So would it be cheaper for him to pay in Euros? Would it be cheaper than Ј319?
Thanks in advance

- You may find that once they detect that he is buying with a UK-based card they will force him to pay the sterling price... otherwise of course use the card to pay in Euro. Do check carefully about delivery.
- Thanks for your reply, to be clear though, do you think it will end up being cheaper if he pays in Euros if he is permitted to do so? We've no real experience and no way of knowing really what figure will end up on my Halifax Clarity credit card bill if we choose the Euros option.
- Just found this, which suggests the best bet is to pay in Euros https://blog.moneysavingexpert.com/20...-0-commission/
- I now have the answer, paying in Euros the cost turned out to be Ј309.12, saving me the best part of Ј10. Hopefully this will help someone else with a similar dilemma.
