A question about : Brown envelope of doom..

My OH is half way through a 5 year DLA award; LRM, MRC.

Their mobility and care needs have changed, so we thought long and hard about putting in for a change..

We put in for a change in November and today the dog brought the post to me and there it was.. the brown envelope of doom.

We paused and opened it slowly... and have been awarded full.

No medical, no extra info requested. Just what we wrote on the forms.

  • Great news harveybobbles. Good to hear of something going easily for once! No extra DWP caused stress for you or your OH for a while!
  • I bet that's some relief for you.
I hope my daughter doesn't get turned down she gets high rate mobility and low rate car but is getting transferred to PIP. She has her appointment on Tuesday.
  • Think it actually took us two weeks to do the forms as we were both mentally tired after a few questions.
  • I also did my DLA forms over around 2 weeks but I also got the award I was aiming at when I advised them of change of circumstances. I put lots of additional evidence and ensured I had covered every area thoroughly.
  • Oh how we hate the brown envelope of doom I know what you mean when you say that. Our son has an "indefinite" DLA award and every time the brown envelope lands, we always wonder whether it's to tell us that we have to re-apply. The last one was to tell us about the usual annual increase - but it worries us every time
  • That's great news. I'm so pleased that the correct amounts have been awarded and you don't have to worry.
    xx
  • Well the last brown enveloe we recieved was to say we had been reported for fraud lol.
