A question about : Brand new thread for Slimming World support

Hello and welcome to yet another shiny new thread for all followers of Slimming World.

The Original and Green plans are still going strong but most people may well have heard of the new Extra Easy plan which is sweeping through the land title=Smile If you've ever wondered if it works, I promise you it does. If you've ever wondered how it works - well the science confuses me, but I would just say to trust the experts at SW, they wouldn't send you on the wrong path.

If you fancy having a go at it, here are the official 'rules' to ensure that you not only lose weight regularly but get all the nutrition your body needs to function well:-

Extra Easy:

1: Choose your Free Food

Anything that’s Free Food on Green OR Original – so that’s pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish and all the Superfree food – is totally Free on Extra Easy! Yes, you can eat unlimited meat, potatoes and veg, fish, chips and mushy peas, and chicken curry and rice with no measuring, no weighing, no counting – no kidding!
And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Superfree Food!
2: Choose your Healthy Extras

Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread and cereal.
3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day

And if the Syn values for Green and Original foods are different on the standard Syns lists, count the lower one!
------------------------------
If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check………
1.Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free

2.Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)

3.Whether you're counting everything that should be counted

4.Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured

5.Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........

A: increase the proportion of Superfree Foods to half of your plate

OR

B: switch to more Speed Foods

And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!

  • Good morning and thank you for the welcome.
Consultant 31 ~ I love that you put "if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will loose weight" - I need to keep reminding myself that I can reach my goal if only I follow the rules!!
I've got a funny old weekend coming up, all over the place and no food planned (well, we are probably eating out tonight so I shall order steak and salad).
Starting the day with some fruit, yoghurt and a little bit of toast.
    have a good day everyone.
  • oooh I love a new thread and as a long time lurker I felt the need to postI do my SW from home as I use it as a maintenance diet after losing the bulk of my excess flab by low carbing. This week has been a difficult one for me as its been * week and I've been feeling bloated and yuck all week, this morning I weighed in and I've lost 4lbs!!! Chuffed to little bobbers with that and I havent been that good a girl eating wise this week either.Anyone who says they cant lose weight easily on this eating plan is crazy cos its so easy to live with.I also love the support on this and previous threads as it can be quite daunting changing your eating habits and reading the posts on previous threads has been so educational for me.Thanks Girls

  • I'm loving my new scales They weigh in 1/4 pound increments and also tell me the amount of body fat I have - over 3 stone I've only got about another stone to lose so don't quite know how that works!!
  • Morning!
    EE for me:
B- scrambled egg, toast (B), coffee, milk (A)
    L- Homemade jalepeno humous, x3 crackerbread(3) salad
D- Chicken, veg & syn free curry sauce, rice
    S- Fruit & yoghurt
Got an exercise dvd from library yesterday so might give that a go later.
    Have a good day everyone!
  • morning,am basck on the wagon after a week of piggyitis.got all the books, got the extra e4asy book last week so motivated.lost almost 2 stone on s.fast for first stone then went on slimming world red/green.put weight back on at first after the s.fast but bound to.i love the fact you can eat loads of fruit without counting it,is it really unlimited though?
what about pasta, rice etc.is it unlimited when you say free? i dont know when to stop with pasta.i make sauce from scratch so its healthy.i have it for my meal but i always want more later when its cold.
  • how do you make the syn free curry sauce plz??
  • Does anyone know how many syns in a Galaxy ripple? Think they're less than 10 but can't find them on website... know it's in the book but mines at home
  • WI this morning wasn't expecting a loss as its * week and had pizza in week BUT lost 1lb so very pleased with that. Probably hit me next week though as over my syns already today .
  • hi eveyone...love the shiny new thread! Last night at the pub I was pretty good! I'd saved Thursday's syns and I'm trying to have no more than 5 per day for the rest of the week so here's what I had:
Cajun chicken (2 assuming it will have been cooked in oil), salad, salad cream (2.5), jacket potato (instead of chips and with no butter on it).
Cheesecake (no cream of ice-cream so 18)
4 vodkas with slimline tonic (16)
so that's a total of 38.5 syns, if I stick to my 5 per day for the rest of the week I should be ok. here's today's plan:
    Brekkie1 (at work) - half a banana
Brekkie2 (once I go home) - a tin of chopped tomatoes.
Lunch - salad, pickled onions and red cabbage, fat free dressing, tuna
Snack - strawberries and raspberries (free in both senses of the word - i went to the pick you own farm and obviously had to test a few!!!).
Tea - HM cheese burgers (HEA), small wholemeal roll (HEB) salad, new potatoes (i might make this into potato salad using natural yogurt).
I've been for a walk today for about 45 mins but now I'm shattered, today is the 13th day in a row that I've been up at 6am for work! Only 6 more to do!
  • Evening all

  • Evening all!
Well I have been out with my DIL and two DGD's for lunch. Actually we were late setting out, and then the place we wanted to go was closed for a reburb, so we went to another place and arrived just as they were closing, and ended up at a carvery - by which time it was nearly 4pm and I was ready to eat the kids. Good job they were in the back of the car!!
Anyway, I was really good, lots of meat and veg, one small yorkshire, no potato, no pud (even though the BAD girls delighted in having lovely ice-cream deserts and smacking their lips in front of me).
So I'm stuffed now, and hopefully won't have synned too much.
I am aiming for my half stone this week. I was at 6.5 lbs loss last time, and thought I had another 1.5 lbs to go, till my sis pointed out that there are only 7lbs in half a stone, not 8 So I could be there this week, fingers crossed xxx

  • Hi everyone,
I'm in my 1st week of SW after years of being an off and on WW follower. I'm finding it quite strange as I'm equating the free foods to pointed foods and can't believe I can eat all this stuff!
Couple of questions though, I seem to be following mostly Green days (didn't opt for EE this week as much as the SW lady told me to) but am eating quite a bit of pasta, is this okay? I'm worried
My weigh in is Monday evening, in my 1st WW week I would usually lose around 4-5lbs, can I expect that with my 1st of SW?
I've stuck to it really well IMO, although I have had almost the full amount of syns everyday, roughly 12-13, is this okay? At our 1st meeting the lady didn't really advise me as they were having "technical difficulties", so really been trying to get my head around it myself this week
    Any advice, thanks a lot
