Best answers:

  • Is your partners ESA claim contributions based or income based?
Does he claim carers allowance for you?
Has there been a change of circumstances that you need to report to the DWP (I notice you're prepping food and leaving out medication for someone else, does this contradict the reason you were awarded Middle care?)
  • You can still claim dla when working. you should get housing and council tax benefit. Free prescriptions but you have to fill in a form.
  • I'm on PIP and started working in June. I work 25 hours and get Working Tax Credits with the additional disability element. I still get housing benefit and help with Council Tax through the disability element and, although I also get free prescriptions due to diabetes, I also have an NHS Exemption Certificate from WTC for help with dental, optical, etc, costs. I think (not 100% sure) that your OH's prescription costs, etc, would also be covered under this. Good luck.

  • I think your OH can stay on ESA (I assume income based?) even if you are working. He will not get cash due to your wages, but will still get his NI credits and prescriptions.
He will continue to be subject to work capability assessments etc though.
As far as I can see you will be entitled to some (but not all) housing benefit and CTB, due to being entitled to WTC. You would appear to be eligible for the disability element of WTC.
You can put your details into entitledto.co.uk.
