A question about : Beautemer-Beware!

I sent for free samples from Beautemer ( advertised on this site), but, unfortunately I did not read the small print; I paid the postage, but then , 2 weeks later, nearly Ј200 was taken from my bank account, as I had not returned them within 2 weeks! Please be aware of this company, and don`t get stung like I did.

  • There are a whole host of companies running this type of scam ...got stung myself some time ago.
Often they are hosted in in the old soviet block of countries.
    Sharp practices indeed.
The products (useless) arrive often after your bank account has been stung.
When you get through to their help line with great difficulty (Lithuania in my scenario) they point to the small print.
If your dissatisfied after 14 days you can claim on the money back guarantee.
It's worthless as its not 14days after trialling the product its 14 days from ordering your FREE sample which can arrive well after the 14 days CATCH 22 if you get my drift.
  • Hi,
We haven't featured any "free samples" from Beautemer on the main MoneySavingExpert.com website, was this something in the forum?
Alternatively, this may be a pop up. It's not the first time we've heard of people getting dodgy pop-ups on legitimate websites, and it may be down to a virus on your computer, so it's worth running anti-virus and Trojan checks on your device. Our Free Anti-virus Software guide may help: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/sho...virus-software.
We've heard a lot about people being stuck with these reoccurring payments offers, for beauty offers, so we wrote a news story about it: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/new...our-money-back
That, and our guide on Consumer rights https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/sho...funds-exchange should hopefully help you get your money back.
    Hope that helps!
