A question about : Bank charges claim

Hi People, I am trying to get my bank charges back from Abbey and I am at the point where they have acknowledged the claim through the court

Best answers:

  • I save loose chaing in my money jar and cash it in every couple of months. The banks in Scotland only accept coins from the Business customer account holders, not us lesser mortals. I use Coinstar, a machine at my local ASDA which deducts 7pence for every Ј1. Therefore, if my coins total Ј100 they take Ј7.00 for their service. Does anyone know where I can change coins to notes where there is no charge levied?
  • Hi Nnflm - Did you get help from the Consumer Action Group. I am absolutely amazed by the amount of money people have already claimed back.
  • Drive to England. Banks will take coins from customers of that bank at no cost if they are correctly bagged.
  • If you give change when you make purchases then you won't get change given to you.
    J_B.
  • Hi, Martin's asked me to post this in these circumstances: I've asked Board Guides to move threads if they'll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
  • What is that thread about, bankcharges or coins?
Will Consumer Action Group help me with getting coins converted into cash?
