A question about : Baby Bargains thread

Hey all, I am pregnant and tryng to find everything I need at the best possible prices so I thought it may be a good idea to have a thread especially for baby/pregnancy related bargains. Is that ok? I hope others think it's a good idea also. These are some bargains I have found tonight.

This is nearly half price and has 'some' great reviews
-Baby monitor

Apparently an essential for when the bump gets in the way and half price
-Body pillow

Safety gate

Really good price travel system

So if anyone spots any bargains, I'd love to see them. Thanks title=Smile

  • Some great priced cots here in the sale https://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/...87_10001_14687
  • Hauck are fantastic, we have the Apollo travel system and its very sturdy but not too bulky
  • I worked out last night it is cheaper to buy new tommee tippee bottles than just replacement teats (if you are after slow flow), half price 6 bottles in boots and other places, so Ј12 for 6 bottles or Ј4.25 for 2 teats
  • You also need to sign up to EVERY baby club going. I did when i was pregnant and have a purse full of vouchers. I used them when the half price offers were around and saved even more! I know its not much of a grabbit but i can do a list of what groups to join and freebies if anyones interested? Don't forget boots have half price deals atm and 10 points per Ј1
  • i wish there was this thread when I was pregnant! i second what vic.star has said, sign up for every possible baby club, hipp, pampers, huggies, aptamil, cow and gate etc as you will get vouchers and sometimes freebies. Check out Argos clearance on ebay as well as they reduce lots of baby things on there good luck with your pregnancy

    Yes please!
  • Here goes...
    aptamil - free bear toy
cow and gate - free cow toy, free weaning pack, money off coupons!
heinz baby club - free sample of baby rice, free sample of porridge, money off coupons
hipp organic - free pouch, free packet of porridge, free spoon, LOADS of money off coupons
pampers - magazines with money off coupons, newborn pack with wipes, nappies and coupons
boots - LOADS of coupons, free avent bottle, free changing bag
avent - free bottle (anti colic plus)
nuby - like on facebook for free gift (bottle, dummy or something else)
plum - like on facebook for free pouch coupon, also sign up on their website for another 50p off coupon
ella's kitchen - money off coupons
asda - free huggies newborn kit (big packet of nappies, wipes and hat)
    tesco - magazines with coupons
sainsburys - free huggies pack with purchase of nappies and magazines (bottle of shower gel, carex hand wash, changing mat, kleenex tissues, fabric softener, wipes)
As far as i can remember, that's everything! Sainsburys have loads of baby food reduced atm, and with all the vouchers you get you can get items at 75% off I have found by far the best to sign up to is Hipp Organic. I got about 9 coupons in the post in 1 week, i had 2 for money off follow on milk and the other 7 were money off pouches. Also the 6+ month combiotic milk is only Ј6.50 in boots on offer atm, plus you get about 65p back in points, so worth stocking up Hope this helps
p.s any baby brand you can think of, look up their website and check for vouchers and freebies, thats what i did Also check facebook as they do giveaways most often
  • Make the most of it when the supermarkets have their baby events - Tesco have one on at the moment, boxes of Pampers nappies are 2 for Ј20. They also had big boxes (1 month supply) of 'Cheeky Bots nappies for Ј15 recently but I tried them and the quality was pretty poor.
Personally I prefer Huggies, but don't get attached, they will only be available for a few more months
    Other money saving tips.....
Mothercare allow you to set up a gift list so friends and family can buy you the items you need, rather than receiving lots of gifts that you don't need / use.
Don't buy toiletries, you will get more as gifts than you will ever use (my daughter is 14mths and we're not even half way through the stuff we got when she was born).
Consider breastfeeding - excellent health benefits for mum & baby and it's FREE
Don't buy lots of fancy, expensive vests, they always end up underneath another layer so you may as well get cheap multipacks of plain ones. Sainsbury's do very cheap basic vests and sleepsuits.
Not sure if they are still doing it but I got a Ј5 giftcard from Mamas & Papas a couple of months ago just for ordering their catalogue.
If you order a lot online sign up to a site like Top Cash Back.
Try eBay or local 'Nearly New' Baby sales for good quality second hand items, most people take good care of baby things and you can get large bundles of clothes for pennies.
Once baby is here sign up for the Early Learning Centre - Big Birthday Club, you'll get a voucher the month before their birthday.
Don't take the tags off clothes until baby is ready to wear them, that way if you have things they never get round to wearing (or gifts you don't like) you can sell them on at a higher price.
ASDA is the cheapest place I've found for baby wipes Ј4.50 for a box of 6 packs.
    Good Luck
  • Thank you for the list Have just sat down and applied to all the groups
  • Ah I am glad the thread's had a good response, thanks so much for the advice! Vic.star that's a fab list, thanks so much!! I had signed up to a couple but didn't know about all them!
    There is another to add
www.emmasdiary.co.uk which also has printable vouchers for a gift pack you collect from Argos.
Mummymoo thanks for all the great advice
  • Be careful with Emma's Diary, I've been bombarded with emails, junk mail and phone calls. I wouldn't mind if they were baby product related but most if the calls have been from energy and insurance companies - very annoying when you're suffering with morning sickness or they disturb a much needed nap!
  • I am not having a baby yet but cannot help looking for baby stuff. If you are looking for a moses basket these are nice https://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/3769915.htm
  • I knew i forgot one or two! I signed up to emma's diary too, but barely got anything in the sets, and one i got had nappies which were far too small for the age my son was lol. I also get emails from various places too, luckily no phone calls.
No worries about the list - happy to help I've saved a fortune on things by shopping around and i pretty much barely buy anything for my son without using a voucher. I got a few jars/pouches for 20p each in sainsburys earlier thanks to my vouchers and their offers. I'm only using them to try my son with different tastes, then once i find something he likes i'll make it myself and save a fortune!
Don't forget to check facebook for local selling clubs, theres one in my area and you can pick up a bargain! Use mysupermarket.co.uk to check prices on baby products too instead of going to separate websites. Boots have 10 points per Ј1 but are usually dearer, so make sure you weigh it all up

Just bought this - seems a good price - they are going for around this price 2nd hand on ebay! I figured this would allow me still to have a glass or two of vino haha!
