A question about : Aspire Money?

Has anyone ever heard of Aspire Money? They are loans people. but i dont know if they're brokers or lenders? Had a look through the forums but can't see anything relating to them....Just wondered if anyone knew if they were dodgy?

Best answers:

  • They sound dodgy.
The proof of this will be when they ask for a processing/arrangement fee.....
  • Hi, I have just checked my credit file, searched on Lower my Bills option for a consolidation loan and apparently there was nothing to match my criteria. However they said they have arranged for a loans expert to call me from Aspire Money, within the next few hours as they have access to "a wider range of products" including Black Horse, Provident etc- but can't see if they will charge you for the pleasure yet.
  • Oh and Ive just had a missed call which I am assuming is from them- with a dialling code of +48 which apparently is Poland??
  • Well, Provident are a doorstep lender. About one step up from PayDay loans, where a first time borrower could get up to Ј500 and pay back about Ј800 over a year.
Anyone would have "access" to them, so to speak. Why would you need a broker to arrange a loan with them?
There would be nothing to stop you from contacting Black Horse direct either.
  • Hi Guys
I checked my experian credit file online and went through to the lower my bills application just to see what I was matched to
On the loans page it came up with "your details have been passed to Aspire Money"
Their website doesn't look to clever....
    https://www.aspiremoney.co.uk/
    No telephone numbers?
I am waiting for a load of loan applications as brokers usually farm out your details to lenders and damaging your credit file in the process due to the large amount of searches in a short period of time
If they call tomorrow to proceed then I will tell them, no thanks
  • I think its really bad that a company like Credit Expert and Experian are dealing and passing details on to these people! Alone I had around 11 missed calls from numbers with +33 and even US dialling codes calling! I picked up yesterday morning when yet another one called me and asked them to take my details off and not to call again, so far it has worked.
  • folks - you ae writing Aspire Money off before you have even talked to them.
They are a loan broker so of course they are going to call you until they reach you
They are based in the UK but have cheaper call centres abroad, in South Africa I believe.
They DO NOT CHARGE APPLICATION FEES!!!
The rate they offered me was CHEAPER than the rate I got from Black Horse
So actualy, I think Credit Expert are brilliant for finding a partner that do not charg fees, unlike all the other loans web companies
There are / were some loan companies that ONLY deal with brokers so you cannot go direct to them, or the lenders offer better rates through brokers than if you apply direct
  • aspire are a broker, they do not charge any fee's what so ever
  • Sorry to resurrect a dead thread
I have a pretty poor credit history with two defaults, a Ј5,500 default 5.5 years ago which leaves my file in Feb 2011, and a Ј103 mobile phone default dated 2006.
Due to this I really struggle to get finance of any form, although I now have a Vanquis card which recently had its limit taken up to Ј500, I use this to ~Ј250 or so and clear it every month in the 6 months I have had it, and have never gone over or missed a payment etc... I also have a JD Williams account with a Ј900 limit, that has sat clear for 4 months or so.
I'm in a better situation financially now than I have ever been before, my pre-tax income last year was Ј21300 and this year will be around Ј23-25k, I've worked for the same employer for the last 2 years and have a bright future with them.
I'm at the point of needing, or I guess wanting, a new car (been driving bangers since the last one got smashed up ).
I have my eye on one for Ј3,500, and have Ј1000 in savings to go towards it, plus the Ј0.50p trade in value of my current banger.
Anyway, I've just applied for a loan with Aspire....
I know the APR is huge, but I don't care. Paying off a Ј2,500 loan (which I may even pay early) will do wonders for my credit rating, and is therefore worth the money to me. I can certainly afford the monthly repayments - the Ј1,000 I have to put towards it is money that has built up in my current account in the last three months without me actively saving.
As long as they are NOT one of the "pay us Ј50 we have a loan for you" companies then I will take them up on any offer they make me
I'll let you know if it actually pans out....
  • Does anyone have a contact number for Aspire? Every number I find and have tried says it's no longer in use...
  • I had a missed call from them today and called them back on 0208 080 6402
  • Hi everyone
I am in a bit of a panic. Someone applied for money from Aspire Money and typed in my mobile number into the quote. I then received calls from them, texts most of the day and even a text from a poor credit company. Then, when I was at the pub tonight my (debit) card was declined even though there is money in the account - I am now worried that the two are related and that my credit rating will be harmed due to this. I was not sure where to post this but this is the relevant company so I thought someone could shed some light on the matter.
  • It is not that someone has been using my details - my card and account are well protected and I have made the bank aware of what has happened. The thing with the card came about due to a power surge knocking the card reader out (apparently) and nothing has come out of my account. Was just concerned about someone using phone number.
  • scammers do not give your personal details many complaints about this ghost credit company
