Hi all,

Just recently had two quotes for artificial lawn and I'm struggling to get my head around the prices so thought I'd check if anyone has any experience.

For installation and prep etc, a plot 7 sq metres, the old turf has been cleared but I appreciate there's work to be done before it is laid. The turf I'm considering retails at Ј28.50 a square metre.

Quote 1 was Ј4700 and quote 2 is Ј3000. That's a helluva pricy lawn! Does anyone have experience of pricing this job up?

• For just 7sq m even if i wasn't a gardener i'd keep to a real lawn. It's not going to take a lot of looking after.
• 7 sq metres, or 7 metres squared ? .... (big difference)
• sounds very expensive, but labour is now about Ј100/per person per hour. If you think that is expensive a Solicitor is Ј300+
