A question about : Aqua credit card good for first timer?

Hello all, I am 21 years old and I have a credit score of roughly 780 according to Experian. Despite this being average, I have not been able to be accepted for a credit card at my main bank; Halifax.

Experian has suggested that I get a Aqua credit card which I'm eligible for but I have some questions. Is this a good credit card to have for a first timer? It will be used primarily to build my credit score through purchasing small items and paying them on time. The whole purpose of me wanting a credit card is to boost my score to enable me to take out a loan at the lowest interest rate in 6 months time.

Thanks for reading.

  • What is the loan of Ј7,000 for if you don't mind me asking?
The Halifax may've declined you if you've insufficient history of having an open credit line and making the payments on time.
Having said that a loan of Ј7k on an income of Ј11k may also declined on the grounds of 'income to ratio.'
