A question about : Is Appealing DLA now normal?

I heard back from DLA, they basically dismissed everything i said in the claim form and granted me nothing.

Everything I said I need help with they had written I was able to do but I just liked someone to be with me.

They did the same thing last time I reapplied for DLA. I am starting to think DLA first try dismissing a claim, knowing anyone who really needs help will appeal.

Has this happen with anyone else?

Best answers:

  • My original DLA award was due to end at start of Feb 15, but my care needs increased this year by a huge amount, but because I thought it would mean me going onto PIP - I put it off, only to be told when I rang PIP up that I had 2 go 4 DLA uprating change instead. I now have MRC/HRM DLA indefinitely until PIP gets to my postcode - any time after 2017/8 I was told.
  • Does anyone know when the conversion to PIP will come to the essex areas. Partner's DLA states for 'an indefinite period' but now know it is going over to PIP - but when please for essex anyone?
  • If anyone wants to know when PIP will start in their area - ring up PIP & give your postcode to them. That's how I found out that I had 2 do a change in circumstances form for my DLA instead of PIP. My original DLA was due 2 end in feb 2015 - but uprating is indefinite until PIP comes to my postcode which I was told would be 2017 at the earliest. I reside in East Anglia, which was one of the areas that was meant to begin in 2015!
