A question about : Anyone got a Philips Asur steam iron?
I'm thinking of getting a Phillips Asur GC4521but it comes with a short, 2 metre lead. I believe that this is the case with all Asur models and is often complained about in reviews.
My question - is the mains plug with these models 'bonded' to the flex. In other words, to remove the plug, could I simply unscrew a few screws like in the old days or would I have to cut through the flex?
If I do buy the iron, I'm thinking of extending the lead using a connector but I don't want to cut the supplied plug off as it would probably invalidate the warranty. (I would want to keep the supplied plug to pop back on again if I need to claim on a warranty).
Thanks.

- No need to reply. I found out, from purchasers on Amazon, that the plug is a sealed unit. So an extension lead is the only way to go.
