A question about : Animal Crossing 'cafe'

Welcome, one and all! title=Jumping

I thought it would be nice to have a wee place to discuss all aspects of the game.

Just started......can't decide where to build my house. title=Smile

How are you getting on?

  • I like animal crossing , It's a nice gentle chill game, I play it to relax. I've played AC wild world on DS and tried let's go to the city on Wii but couldn't get into that version. Wild world was ruined for me by mods.
I've been playing AC NL (animal crossing new leaf) since early this month, I built my house over looking part of the river and near a bridge, this is sort of like my map design, except my town hall was in a different area and the initial bridge was in a different place.
I'm on the second upgrade of the upstairs room. I'm doing the outside of my home in the zen structure, and my main room is mermaid theme because I'm turning it into an aquarium, I already have a great white shark, nepolion fish, sea horse etc displayed in there. I've got kicks, club lol, first upgrade on the nook shop, flower shop and building the hair salon, I'm also collecting for the museum renovation. I've woken up the blue alpaca and had him make me a few special things with ore. In town I've built another bridge, a chair and the camp site. I've designed a penguin flag for the town and my town tune is the x files theme .
My native fruit is the apple, I've now got several perfect tree versions. I've also got oranges growing thanks to the puppy woman who works in the town hall (she gave me three, I think the fruit she gives is random but it will be different to your native fruit and she only does it once. She also gives a watering can if you don't have one). I've also planted all the island fruits in my town and the special fruit (think its a passion fruit or something) thanks to a villager who gifted it to me. I have the sewing machine to scan and make QR codes in Able sisters, There's a great list of QR codes available online, my favourite was for Shepard's N7 Mass Effect 3 hoodie which was available as part of an outfit in collectors editions of Mass Effect 3, my Femshep wore nothing else. I also have one of the four mannequins. I've donated well over 50% fish, over 50% bugs and over 50% fossils and three paintings to the museum. I've got the request to build the dream space thing so I'll be doing that next, just decided to do the museum first. Got a few badges and rare items and a silver bug trophy. I haven't joined club tortimer, I don't really like the idea of being put in a game with a random person from anywhere else in the world, language barriers etc. Plus I can live without the extra items from that island.
There's a forum with adult AC gamers that I sometimes visit, they have loads of info listed, it's where I got my town tune from.
Edit: forgot to add I have the beautiful town ordinance I'm effect, it's handy because weeds and cockroaches don't appear or rarely appear and your villagers water plants more. But it backfired a bit because I now have flowers everywhere.
  • Hello. I specifically bought a 3ds Xl just for animal crossing new leaf! Been playing since launch and just love it. I have the second floor of the museum, a basement in my house. Just wish I could get more street pass hits and for my villagers to suggest more PWP's.
I placed my cafe near the basin part of my river.
My daughter also got a 3ds just for this game! My favourite villager is Rosie who I all had in ACWW
Will be following this thread with interest
  • Is it me or are there far more tarantulas and scorpions in NL than there were in WW? I've caught quite a few, tarantulas more so, and seen a few more. It just seemed in WW there weren't that many . Rare fish and sharks seem easier to catch as well.
  • Tom Nook is a thieving git!
  • I've only seen 1 tarantula and 1 scorpion! Needless to say i couldn't catch them!! But then I don't really play late at night!!! I think the rare fish like colecaths are much easier to catch as in WW I didn't catch any but in NL I have caught 2!!
And yep Tom Nook is a thief!!!
  • I just blew my entire bell balance on cookies at the firework show. I've got two minauture cars and a dozen or so assorted fireworks to show for it.
    hmmmmm...
  • Nook has just hit me with a 98,000 bell loan for my home improvements. I was coining it in with fish but then I went and accidentaly sold my rod! Looks like I'm going to be bug-hunting for a while....
What's the most amount you've managed to add on to something you've sold in the flea market? Got triple price for my miniature cars.....is more possible?
  • I don't know if anyone else will find this useful but if you're building your museum collection and having trouble spotting the fake works of art at crazy Redd's and find yourself wasting money on fakes (whenever I go to his tent he normally has three fakes and one genuine item) I found this guide in spotting the differences very helpful, https://www.thonky.com/animal-crossin...-works-of-art/.
On the same site is a list for Gulliver as well if needed.
  • I really, really want this game but don't have a 3DS! Need to scrape together some pennies.... I might regret it though as I won't be able to leave it alone!
  • Absolutly addicted to AC! Only 2 more house upgrades left, and nearly got all the fossils, now working on fish and bugs
