A question about : Amazon Credit Card free Voucher

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I've just trawled through pages of this forum and couldn't find it...

I've just recieved my second statement from my amazon credit card, but still haven't recieved my initila Ј15 voucher that I should have got when I first got the card.

Does anyone know how I can get them to send it to me?

I don't often look at this board, so could someone PM me with an answer?

Cheers!

  • There's a blue link called User CP, above the Post Reply button and slightly to the right. If you click on that it lists all posts in all MSE forums that you've posted in, a quick way to check out all your threads to see if anyone has replied
  • Can anyone tell me if they have actually had this Ј15 yet?
  • i have recieved my Ј15 voucher, it came to me by email; it was a code i had to quote rather than an actual vocher being sent to me. on my first statementit says how many points you have and how many have been redeemed so my point total was down to about 2. this also happened for my OH aswell. We then cancelled our cards.
  • i too are still waiting since the 2nd march. i have just sent them a second e-mail about this, so fingers crossed
  • Hiya
I have just changed my cc to Amazon as per Martin's o% BT chart, but there is no mention of the Ј15 on any of the literature I have recieved.
Also I went onto the web site and I can't bring up my CC account it all about the stuff it sells. How can I check if my BT has gone through and how do I check if I got the Ј15.
Ps Can't ring cos I put card in OH name - work FT I work PT and he is never home when they are available to speak to.

  • Hi,
I've had an Amazon card for a couple of months.
You will be awarded the 1500 loyalty points when you make your first purchase on the card, and they will be converted into a Ј15 gift certificate when the next credit card statement is produced. I applied for my card at the end of January, and I received the gift certificate by email on 15th March.
To check the account balance online, you'll have to register for the Amazon/Halifax website. Start at https://www.amazon.co.uk/halifax/ /
    Regards,
    Rob
  • thanks for that Rob. Just managed to register and my BT has gone through and all is wlell. Just need to find out how to set up a DD and I'm laughing.
    Thanks again

  • Has anyone else had problems getting hold of the 1500 points / £15 gift voucher that was offered when you signed up for a Amazon Mastercard? I first used my card on 26th Feb and despite calling and e-mailing Amazon the certificate hasn't appeared. They should be sent by e-mail within 5 weeks.

  • I had my card in December and received my voucher last week of January. Also just recently used my Ј 15 voucher to buy books from Amazon.co.uk.
  • Ive seen somewhere on here about a Ј15 voucher when you open an amazon account but cant trace it. How do you get the voucher ?
  • First post to please go easy.. :-)
Basically, Ive an ongoing issue with Amazon and the loyalty point scheme they have on thier credit card. A while back, I took this out, and according to the offer you earn
"1 loyalty point for every Ј1 spent at Amazon, 0.5 points for Ј1 spent elsewhere."
Great I thought, so I applied for the card, recieved this soon after and started spending. I got my initial payment of Ј15.00 which is an introductory gift once you spend, but the remaining points I had accrued that month were not paid to me. After some emails back and forth, they did eventually pay out on the points I had earnt, for the first month.
Two months have gone by, and I have earnt more points on my card which to date have not been paid to me, despite many phone calls, and emails reporting this. I feel like Im being fobbed off, they state that there was a 'software problem' causing non-payments, but time and again they have said they were looking into this but Im still no further getting the points which I want to use on Amazon.
My suspicion is that they are stalling the payments because part of the points I have earnt are from when I use a betting website (I enjoy online betting), which seems to equate to spending money outside of Amazon, and earns 0.5 points per pound. I have read, and reread their T&Cs and there is nothing that says you cannot use the card to fund online betting, and I feel as such I am entitled to the points I have earned because of this.
Additionally, they also chose to contact my online betting site and requested they close my betting account, which they actually did! Whether or not you agree with gambling is moot, I am entitled to use that card for gambling, there is nothing anywhere that says I cant, and if they did not want to include payments to/from betting sites as things which generate loyalty points then they should state this in the terms of the account from the outset.
    Any thoughts/advice?
  • I have just been sent my second £15 voucher from Amazon. The loyalty points are rewarded in the form of a £15 amazon voucher. This is acheived by spending £1500 on amazon.co.uk (not marketplace sellers etc), or £3000 elesewhere, or in my case a combination of both. You will get a running tally of points on each paper statement. Only when this has exceeded 1500 points will you get your voucher.
    From amazon.co.uk/halifax:
    Quote:
  • Last month, my statement said I had earnt 21000 points, 20000 were stated 'to be redeemed this month'. The month before that it said I had 19000 'to be redeemed this month'. When I got my original (and only) points credit, it was paid in a lump sum via email, not as a £15 voucher which from what I understand is just an opening offer. So according to my statement, Im currently owed around 40000 points by Amazon, but they are withholding the payment(s) to me. They have not come out and stated this, but its the feeling I get, there are staff who are trying to establish whats going on.
My guess is that they dont want to pay out because the points have largely been accrued from a betting website I use and they dont like it, but theres nothing in the T&Cs to say this is not allowed. They state you dont earn points for balance transfers, cash withdrawels, but nothing at all about this.
If I have a choice of using two credit cards to fund online betting, one gives you loyalty points for the money you withdraw, the other one doesnt, its obvious which one I would use, and I dont feel that I have done anything wrong.
If this is an issue to Amazon then they should take steps to amend the T&Cs to explain you dont accrue points via betting websites.
  • Wow! Seems like you are due a lot of Amazon vouchers. BTW, the 'voucher' is in the form of an email with a code which you use to get Ј15 off purchases at amazon.co.uk
I can't see anything in their t+cs about gambling sites. Looks to me like you have used the card in accordance with their t+cs. Seems unfair that your not getting your e-vouchers.
Now that I've received my second voucher, I've cancelled my Amazon Halifax card and gone for an egg money card which offers a straight 1% cashback on all purchases. Not sure about egg money and gambling sites though, could be worth looking into for a higher return on cashback?
  • Hi,
Has anyone else received the letter from Amazon today regarding the balance transfer fee?
I applied for this mastercard specifically because it was balance transfer free back in April and now, 6 months later they are saying they made a mistake and now want to charge me the fee on my original balance transfer!!!
    H
  • No way! I'd tell them where to stick that. If they made a mistake then tough. Not sure if that's an acceptable final answer, but I'd put up a huge fight first.

  • i dont see how they can charge a fee in retrospect because you agreed to a service then and they cannot just change the terms and conditions now.
Do you have a copy of your original terms ?
