A question about : Alton towers stay and promo tickets?

Can you book the hotel via the alton towers website and then tickets elsewhere to save a few pounds?
I get discount through work and can also get 2 for 1 promo tickets on cereal ect so wondered if this was the cheapest way of doing things and if its ok?
I've never stayed in a resort hotel before so also if anyone has any tips that would be great title=Smile
TIA Chocdonuty title=Have

Best answers:

  • You can - we have booked the hotel, taken littl'un & me on his Merlin pass, and taken Marley & BIL on a 2-for-1 ticket.
However. If you book tickets through the hotel you do get a discount (variable, ask at time of booking), and you do get early entry to the park with half-a-dozen rides running and CBeebies open at that time. Plus you don't have to queue to buy the tickets
  • I've stayed at the hotel twice, and booked tickets through the hotel both times. If you get them through the hotel when booking your stay you get the second day free in the theme park.
From memory it costs about Ј33 each for a ticket to alton towers with the hotel (it says you save money on the full price of entry but i don't know who would pay full price as there is always a 2 for 1 voucher somewhere) so its more expensive than using a voucher but you do get two days for that price, and you get the early entry into the park (although not all the rides are open for the first hour).
But you can certainly just book the hotel and get tickets for the park separately - and after visiting the theme park on one day you can pay Ј6 each to go back the next day. The last time i went to the hotel i booked a deal for the room, breakfast and 1 day theme park tickets for two of us, we then paid Ј6 each to go back the next day as well
