A question about : Alcohol self help thread II

:: Note from the Forum Team. This thread has now been closed due to its length. Please post in the new Alcohol self help thread III.

Here we are with a new thread.

I would like to say a big thankyou, to everyone who posted with support on the old thread, we all really appreciate it. title=Kisses3

Hi, If you've just come in.

If you think you may have an alcohol problem or you know you have, or you are interested because a family member has, or you're just interested, you are all welcome.

We had another thread that has now been locked, you can find it here .
If you have a look through it, you will find out alot more than just coming straight here to the end of the thread.

If you need to talk to someone urgently, or just talk to someone about it, please contact one of the below, we all are battling our demons, one way or another, but we will all know what you are going through, because we are as well..........

Best of luck with your journey, hope to see you at the end of the thread.
We like to have a joke, but we can be serious as well when needed, just jump in anywhere.

  • No worries The Saint, the only language needed on this thread as in all other threads on MSE is friendliness and politeness and of course be nice to all money savers.
Will be nice to see your first post up again beer and hope everyone finds you across here.
  • Hi saint
Alot of the people that post on the thread are involved one way or another with alcohol, it ( the old thread ) started off with every post being about alcohol, but went into a sort of meeting place where we tend to talk about our problems when we need to, but also just talk amongst ourselves about our lives.
It works, in a strange sort of way. We cheer each other up and you can't do that, just by talking about how bad we feel all the time.
Thats the way I look at it anyway.
Each of us has already done our big, "I have problems with alcohol" post, most of us many times.
  • Yes, you are right its a "support thread" which means everyone supports each other, thats what friends normally do. Do you only talk about one subject continuously with your friends? There is no special code or language its called being there and could also be known as caring about others. Those who choose to post here are fully aware of how the thread runs and that not everything in life has to be a one track pony. I hope the thread will be of help to you and that you will be able to join in the happy as well as sometimes hard times without having any problems.
    Maria
  • Thats an interesting question, as I started the thread, only I know the purpose it was started for.........and this is it, to cheer everyone up and give help.
So that is what is happening, if you don't like it, don't look.
