A question about : Advice wanted on a PPi claim ??
Hi I took out a loan on my 18th birthday which was 9 years ago with lloyds for 5,500 I just assumed everyone had to take out loan protection. I had difficulty paying my debts so ended up taking out a DRO on it which has now ended , so have now put in a claim for ppi only thing is I think a year after I took the loan out I came out of work and think they paid Ј600 pound off my loan . Do u think I will be intitled to anything ? Thanks for reading
Best answers:
- So to clarify:
You paid for a policy
You claimed on the policy
You received a substantial chunk of money towards your debt
You then didn't pay off your debt
You now want to complain the policy was miss-sold to you?
On what grounds?
This is a non-starter anyway:
1) They can deduct any PPI refund from the money written off in the DRO
2) They can deduct the amount already paid out from any PPI refund - Apart from the information above.
Here is just a little advice..
Never, ever assume anything, ever..... - I have already been told that as long as the DRO has finished they are unable to deduct money from the ppi if I was successful , it works differently to bankruptcy and Ivas just wanted to see how i would fare
- If it was sold to you in such a way that you believed it was mandatory, or was added on without mention, then you may be successful but it doesn't seem right, since you benefited from the policy.
- If your complaint is successful, they will take the value of what they've already paid out when you claimed away.
