A question about : Advice please
Hi any advice much appreciated. My neighbour was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, she has been treated and has found a new lease of life doing Zumba. She lost her job and would like to train to become a Zumba instructor. It costs around Ј200 which she just does not have. She has raised thousands of pounds over the last year for cancer research doing Zumbathons and is a total inspiration!
Does anyone know of any grants/ loans she could apply for to pay for this qualification? I have looked but did not find anything suitable as she is not classed as a 'young person' or school leaver.
Thanks
Best answers:
- Why not start a local fundraiser/just giving pages (https://home.justgiving.com/) or something of the like? Ј200 is an easily achievable goal for that sort of thing
Not to come across as harsh but I doubt she will get any kind of grant/loan just to become a zumba instructor. - Why not indeed? My reason for not starting is that Justgiving is a commercial company making Јmillions that will take a 6.5% cut from all donations. Other charity facilitators take a lot less.
