A question about : Advice needed after first appeal please!

Morning all,
my dad got a pcn from euro car parks. i sent the template appeal letter from here using there online form for appeals.

i got a automatic reply saying appeals can take upto 35 days and a response will arrive in writing only.

this was sent and the atutomatic response was on the 19th january. making it 36 dyas today or 35 if counting from the day after appeal was sent.
we have had no reply saying its been cancelled or a rejection letter with a popla code or anything.

not sure what to do next as i read this had happened to someone else and it was too late to popla appeal as euro car parks made out they had sent a response and submitted copies even though the person never received them.

help!

Best answers:

  • as you have the auto reply, WAIT
dont be impatient, let them put their foot in it by their tardiness
if you wanted, you might be able to login as if you were going to pay it and see if its been cancelled
but stop being impatient , give it more time , let them hang themselves if they dont adhere to the BPA CoP - ie:- 45 days is worse than 35 , 65 days is worse than 45 days
you are in no hurry, so let things lie
  • thanks red, will do.
that was my first thought and i had it in my head that if they went past a certain date they cant enforce it, so i was just having a nose and saw something that said as above euro said they had replied and the person was then too late to appeal to popla so just wanted to double check thats all
  • they can try to enforce it for up to 6 years m8
the 35 days is a BPA CoP guldelines that they do not strictly enforce (remember the BPA is a trade body for its members, no laws cover this 35 days)
dont forget , this is an unregulated industry
you havent even had a reply yet (with or without a popla code) so until that happens its sit and wait (the 6 year clock is ticking regardless)
it is possible they may have supposedly sent it and the popla code may be ticking, but a lot of mail seems to go missing into a black hole for these companies , in which case your complaint to the BPA would be twofold, no reply within 35 days and anything sent has not arrived, so you cannot appeal without the paperwork
  • brill, thanks red
i can stop panicking a bit now lol
