Best answers:

  • I'd suggest first contact the company to inform them that the person does not live at your address. (Maybe worth checking first that they are a real company e.g. real address, postcode and landline tel. number).
Contact the Post Office to make sure no-one has put a 'forward' on your mail. !I've heard fraudsters will do this, get all your mail, take out the credit cards and then post the other mail back through your do, so you're not suspicious.
See here for advise and information on identity fraud; though this person has not actually stolen your identity, but your address.
BTW - have you lived at your address long? !Could the debt belong to a previous owner?
That's all I can think of but I'm sure other members will have more advice.
  • Get a hold of your credit reports, if the person appears on them you can get a notice of dissocciation. You may also see who the lenders are (if any) and can notify them of potential fraud. You could also notify the police.
