A question about : Account Charge Reclaim

Hi all,

Sending a claim to Natwest tomorrow for two current accounts, thought I'd start a thread to let you all know how I get on.

Claim includes the following:
Unarranged overdraft fees (Ј601.79 / Ј554.46)
Arranged overdraft fees (Ј82.81)
Returned item fees, Guaranteed item fees, Unpaid item fees, Paid referral fees (Ј448.61)
Default fees (Ј80.96)

Total - Ј1768.63

I'll update when I have news!

  • Unless you are in current financial hardship, your chances of "reclaiming" anything at all are nil.

    Be prepared to go through Moneyclaim online (issue Court Documents) Majority of Banks will make an offer rather than pay to go through Court Process.
    If you issue Court Documents you need to prepare well and willing to go all the way.
  • Just spoke to them on the phone.
    My case manager referred to the Supreme Court case (2009), stating that the court ruled fees were not unfair etc and that this issue was whether they had been applied correctly in line with the terms of the account.
    They've offered me a goodwill payment of Ј162 and confirmed I'll recieve the outcome in writing. I didn't try to argue the point over the phone or further make my case (maybe I should?) but I thought best to have it all done in writing etc.
    Next stop the FOS I guess!
