A question about : Abba1772's Debt Free Diary
hi everyone
New on here not new to debt 
was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt
By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for Ј6000 and this was may last year 
but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the Ј3000 mark 
Debts June 2009
Capital One Card Ј6000
BOS CC Ј1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ Ј124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments
Debts October 2010
Capital One Card Ј3245.39 Paying Ј200 a month into this
BOS CC Ј1559.81 Paying minimum payment of Ј34
I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly Ј50 a month but last year is was over Ј80 a month so saving Ј30 already
Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009
My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying Ј200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!
The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess Ј200 plus the Ј34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have Ј360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.
well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car 
My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

- no debt payments for today i'm afraid not feeling good and can't be bothered tbh
got some stuff selling on facebook mainly ladies and kids clothes going to have a clearout of the kids computer games and games consoles that they hardly play with x
any money made will be going towards the xmas fund x - made Ј5 selling a top on preloved.com but Ј2 of that went on postage but every little helps lol
means i don't have to go digging away in my bank lol
no debt payments for me will be paying Ј34 towards my BOS by DD at the end of the month then on the 2nd i will be putting Ј200 into my capital once account x
with xmas coming up i'll be putting whatever extra money i have into my xmas fund, refuse to pay full price for anything tbh so spending less than anticipated x - No posted on here for a while
well i've managed my first target of getting my credit card under the 3K mark to think it was Ј6000 last June x
i'm so chuffed so i'm determined that this credit card will be paid off this time next year i can't wait
i keep thinking by 2012 i'll be debt free its amazing x x x x - Ј2,898.31
thats what my big credit card is reading at the moment you can't imagine the big smile i have on my face just seeing that amount yes i know it's still alot of month but it was over Ј6000 in June 2009 so i'm so chuffed with myself

Just looking at your signature well done on paying that amount off in a couple of months.
I'm glad I've found this place it makes me more determined to get debt free.
Well phoned vodaphone who I have a contract with for a laptop and dongle and internet but haven't used internet since July when I got broadband installed so got my early resettlement figure and it's Ј122.28........need to wait til next month to pay off tho as i have double council tax due to me working and the council mucking things up for me as well as my car tax at the end of next month so i've promised myself that if i have any money at then end of January i will be paying off my vodaphone account off and that'll be another Ј30 to go into my credit card - Hi Abba1772

These boards are inspirational, I was so fed up and depressed when I added my balances up but then I found this website and whilst it is still a bad situation it also made me realise that I am not the only one dealing with debt.

It sounds like you've done really well over the last year or so - I'm sure you'll reach your goal this year!!! I'm Hoping to clear mine by the end of 2011 too - we have a similar amount of debt so I'll keep up with how you're getting on!!

nothing on the debt front just now, just back from my grans spent new years eve and day there altho i did have to work new years day i know i know but it pays the bills x
hope you've all had a nice new year and didn't suffer from any hangovers lol - Well done and keep it up..I'm nearly under the 3k too and I also had to work new year, It'll be worth it when we are debt free.
- Just joined the Ј365 challenge in 365 days so stuck Ј62 in it, this will go towards my car insurance which is due in November feeling very positive towards 2011 regarding my finances
thank you bikerfrenzy..........so when is your debt free target????? MInes is the end of 2012 but I am aiming for it to be quicker than that x - I want my Credit Card paid off (Ј1700) by April but I will need to borrow some more off my sister to do that taking my debt to her up to Ј2000 so I'm aiming to pay that back by November. I don't think it will happen any faster because I know once the spring comes I will want to go places on my motorbike. I have three boys 10 7 and 3 so it's always a balance between paying my debts and still being able to give them a life. x
- I know what you mean.........I've got two my DD who is 8 and my DS who is 4 so it is finding that balance but my DD is very good at finding bargains lol
My target is to get my credit card down to under Ј2000 in April so hoepfully I can do it lol fingers crossed x - quite chuffed with myself i've made Ј2.55 on pureprofile, haven't used it in ages but it's something better than nothing , will build this account up as well as my lightspeed one and put it towards my debt.
Every little helps lol - i'm feeling really guilty because i haven't paid anything towards my debt yet i know it's only the 7th but still.......the reason being is i don't get paid til the 10th and i don't know what my wages are yet so can't calculate it until i know what they are if that makes sense x
but as soon as i get paid on Monday I will be debt busting i promise, if my wages are good i'll be ploghing another Ј250 into it....if not it'll be Ј200 but we'll see how we go x x x x - you're doing really well with your credit card choogirl x
- Thanks Abba1772, unfortunately I also have another that has Ј8k on a Barclaycard as well which is going to get sorted as soon as we've cleared the HSBC but its all going in the right direction which is all that matters xx

today wasn't a debt busting day spent Ј30 taking the kids bowling , my DD whipped my bum on the first game (she's 8) and i won the second game also got a burger so wasn't too bad then popped into bhs and got my DD picture frames for her sequin art 4 frames at Ј15 each reduced to Ј4 each so got them for Ј16 quite chuffed and the look amazing in glossy pink lol
payday on monday then couch payment comes out on Wednesday so will start to see some money going towards debts then x
