A question about : 12 to 24 week pregnancy thread

Hi all,

Hoping I am now offending anyone but having spoken to a few ladies on the less than 12 week thread, it seems that maybe a space would be useful to chat and move over to, prior to joining the 'big' pregnancy thread.
Personally I find that due to work comittments and also still being a bit of a scared pregnant person, I am unable to catch up as much as I would like on the main pregnancy thread.
I don't want to compartmentalise things really, but hopefully folks will feel they are moving from one defined stage to another when changing threads at the 12 and 24 week stages and then the main pregnancy thread after that title=Thanks, Of course I still dip in to all of them, and hope we can all benefit from the 3 threads title=Smile

  • I have arrived I will still post in the under 12 weeks thread but the main thread moves too fast for me. Also the ladies are much further ahead so we don't have much in common apart from the fact we're all pregnant.
  • Hi S good to see you here - the first to arrive!
Yes I feel the same, I think that by the time I am around 22 weeks I will understand more and so be able to post relevant posts on the other thread too but for now I feel a bit useless on there and unable to offer much really.
Our due date is now 26th July and my mum has already booked her flight to come over - starting to feel very real, and every day i look at the scan pic and think wow, can't wait to meet you little one!
  • Do you want to add our due dates to your first post? Just to see where everyone is x I'm August 4th.
Aw bless I bet your mum is soooooooo excited!!
  • Hi good idea, this can be a due date list:
    Sparkle 76 - 26th July
    Sequeena - 4th August
Anyone wishing to add to the list, simply copy and paste this and add your details in date order. Then post the new list and so on!

    Hi guys
Im 19 weeks today and being kicked well
  • This is a good idea, only downside is that there was a massive fight to keep the less than 12 weeks.
The board guides said it was pointless as there are no money saving tips and if you want something for support, to go to special pregnancy forums (like BnB)
Im 24weeks anyway so im sticking to the main thread, but have fun!
  • Well I'll pop in and say hi, although I tend to find the main thread quite useful anyway

  • Are the heavily pregnant ladies really that scary? I will be honest and say that i dont think they will allow this thread to stay.
Dont be frightened of the pregnancy thread though ive gone through two pregnancies on there and the advise and support have been a godsend at times. You dont have to join in with everything just pick up where you can and jump in. If this thread does dissapear i hope you will go join in xx
  • Also, not sure if this is just the next 12wks or 2nd trimester. Because the 2nd tri finishes at 27wks
  • Anderson8 due 31st July.
money saving tip for this thread is, have a look in Tescos, theyre selling a lot of baby clothes off at the moment, got a 5 piece set today, 2 sleepsuits, a bib, a hat and some scratch mitts in neutral colours for Ј3!

Hi I'd also like to join in, the main pregnancy thread also can be a bit scary and move fast for me too! I am 16 weeks now and I don't feel like i've 'swelled' (?) that much on my tummy yet, I suppose that's normal? I've started to feel a few flutters though so am thinking maybe the baby moving?
For the monay saving aspect of being pregnant, i'm finding it hard to keep up with my constant changing food habits! I'll love something one week and despise it the next! Has anyone got any tips for this?
Also i'm thinking about requesting a second c-section for various reasons (including me having back problems) does anyone know if they will do this on the due date or if they do it before that roughly?
I've already started stockpiling nappies of various sizes and wipes using money in my weekly shop so I won't have to worry those first few weeks after the baby arrives. I'm going to try & breastfeed again but just in case i'll grab a tub of formula & some bottles too in case I get another hungry baby!
    xx

  • Hi all,
I am still reading the main pg thread and will post here too. Overall of course there's so much to learn that any place to share is great.
I got my Ј5 off Ј10 spend voucher from Sainsburys in my pack from the hospital at the booking in appointment. So today I had a look there and there are some cute packs which may be worth getting. Also got Ј0.30p off Ovaltine so got some of that too, as Sainsburys don't seem to have an own brand version. Kirstle99 that's great you are already gettting stuff, I need to do that too - I saw that in the Ј0.99p store they have baby wipes, just need to see if this is really cheaper than other high street prices.
I was wondering is anyone planning to start properly buying any of the big stuff yet? I want to get items 2nd hand where possible, or even on freecycle. So far we got a cot on Freecycle and just need to buy a mattress. No idea where from though!
Kirstle99 I am not showing much at all yet either, this week I will be 14 weeks. Food wise, I am liking peach yoghurt from Sainsburys (covers the dairy and calcium needs for baby) and also for some reason Cinnamon Graham type cereal (I say type because Sainsburys have a similar thing, it was all i could find - are Golden Grahams not made anymore?!). Not sure about your query about c-section as this is my first pregnancy... maybe call your midwife?
  • i can understand a thread for less than 12weeks but i do find this one a bit strange. next it will be threads depending on what trimester you are in
people say the main thread moves to fast...well as soon as this one gets lots of people posting it will too.
i found the main pregnancy thread fabulously helpful as it was great to 'talk' to people at all different stages of their pregnancies. i found it a lot more helpful than i ever thought it would be. it can move fast but i never found it too much of an issue and made some fabulous friends on there
  • Snap Abby - here's to hoping baby arrives on time eh!
Just bought a really cute Winnie The Pooh newborn set on ebay for Ј4.70 - first baby purchase and it was money saving ;o)
