A question about : Withdrawing cash in Iceland
Hi all,
I am travelling to Iceland tomorrow and I have some Krona but will probably need more. Please can I ask what is the best way to get cash over there being as I have probably missed the boat regarding the Post Office.
Is using my HSBC debit card that expensive over there to withdraw cash?
Thank you in advance,
B
Best answers:
- Fees are not that expensive, 2.75%, hsbc.co.uk/1/2/contact-and-support/card-support/using-your-card.
However the problem could be the exchange rate to convert your money, usually is well below the retail market. I would recommend you to pay directly with you card when you can.
Additionally, you need to notify your bank that you will be abroad to avoid the suspension (for security reasons) of your debit card, you can do this online in your bank account.
