A question about : How many current accounts can you have?

How many current accounts can you have?

Can you have current accounts at different banks?

For example, could I open up different current accounts at different banks in order to qualify for some of their offers? e.g. Halifax Ј5/month, First Direct introductory offer.

I know many stipulate that x-amount is required to be paid into these accounts to qualify for these perks. However, is it possible to transfer this amount from other accounts (held elsewhere?).

A question about : CAPITAL ONE Balance Transfer Warning

I wanted to warn you of misinformation I was given by Capital One. Their call centre assured me that a balance transfer was protected and free for a year, but this is not the case if you make any purchases.

I have been a customer for a while, paying off my full balance each month. They contacted me with an offer for balance transfer for 1 year with a 3% charge. Given I have an offset mortgage with a 6% interest rate, it made sense to take advantage of this and put the balance on my mortgage account.

A question about : how long do balance transfers take?

I'm awaiting a LTSB credit card to arrive any day now and my current 0% deal on a different card ends 1 Jan 08. How much time do I need to allow LTSB to make sure the other card is paid off?

Is it just me or is this slightly mis-leading in Martins e-mail this week?

Ј150 from a Ј5000 CL.

Have I missed something here. According to the calculators this isn't possible, based on the BT Fees of 3% and 2.98%. Unless you are a non-tax payer or put the money into an Offsett Account, I suppose, which isn't everyone. Just a thought.

A question about : List of who underwrites which credit card

Ready to move cards and a little while ago I came across a list someone had prepared - which showed what financial institution were underwriting which credit cards. ie Virgin branded credit card is operated by MBNA.

Despite searching this site and www.stoozing - I've not been able to find it- anyone able to help me relocate this list?

A question about : LLoyds Platinum follow on 0% deal (no fee)

Lloyds have offered me a nice 0%, no fee deal with a 2% min payment

My last 0% ended in august and at the time there was 'no way they could waive the fee'.

So might be worth you calling to if you have one of these cards back from when they were good (about one year ago)

Can I still take this through Egg Money, and any tips of getting Egg Money cashback

Odd. Filled up with 45.04 of diesel using Egg Money on 26oct and today I notice an instant cashback credit of 0.90 on my account. That's 2%.

Not mentioned on Egg Money website.
