A question about : bad reference

i was sacked from my perfect job on friday due to a bad reference from a previous employer.
I had left the previous job approximately 2 months before and they gave a good reference to the interim employer so I was somewhat shocked at the damming reference i have recieved since.

A question about : Comprise agreement that didn't take into consideration my sickness

Hi all,

In 2007, after a year of hard work but unfortunately accompanied by harassment, I have signed a compromise agreement but this contract didn't take into consideration a sickness i start having at that period (chronic severe headache). Until today I still have this illness and presently I cannot work due to this last.

A question about : My Redundancy Diary

I am being made redundant on 28 April 2011 (actually finish on 8 April due to leave etc) and would like to share my thoughts and experiences. Before I start I would just like to say that this affects everyone completely differently and we all have different life/relationship and financial positions. Even so, there are bound to be shared thoughts and experiences with all of us.

A question about : Public services

I'm not sure if this is in the right section? I work in local government and I know that a lot of my colleagues are worried that our jobs will go with the new government cutbacks to public services. I'm on maternity leave at the moment and so am not able to pick up much information.

A question about : Redundancy Overpayment

Just looking for peoples opinions here.

I was made redundant at the end of last month from a public sector role after 16 years service. My redundancy package totaled 22k.

For some reason, no doubt a clerical error, I was paid twice - therefore received two payments via BACS of 22k, total of 44k. This was not the bank's error, as I received two invoices from the organisation, so its clearly a mistake on their part.

I am now off the payroll, and have no contractual obligations to said organisation.

A question about : I've been made redundant

I was made redundant on Thursday,
It was a voluntary redundancy:rolleyes:, sounds daft to accept it
but as I had been there under a year I wasn't entitled to any pay out
So by taking it I got 4 weeks notice pay and 4 weeks pay and holiday pay

If I didn't take the voluntary i would have been working my notice and miss out on 4 weeks pay
