- I heard that a big M&S was coming to Bletchley near ASDA. Is this true? Anyone know when?
- I heard that M&S have pulled out of the deal and it won't be going ahead - a real shame it would have been handy. What I would like to see is Primark move into the old Co-op in Bletchley.
- Primark in the old Co Op would be great, but I heard there were asbestos issues with the building
I see the new building on the other side of the A5 to the Dons stadium is a new HQ/distribution centre for Domino Pizza. - The zip has broken on my favourite huge, bright green leather handbag.
Can anyone recommend where I can get the zip replaced.

Thought it might be helpful if we put a MK slant on it and listed our local good value eateries.
The original thread has a lot of praise for Crown Carveries Ј3.50 deal and I see we've 2 of these in MK, has anyone been and can recommend them?
Also I've always fancied trying the Chefs in Waiting resturant at Bletchely college and have heard good things about that being a good place to get high quality food at a good price.

I own a bouncy castle hire company we are fairly new, we say we are a hire company for mk but we actually travel out further, we have hired out bouncy castles for the milton keynes village fete and intend on being there this year aswell. We have also provided bouncy castles for schools, corpoate events and private events. If you are a school or charity we give a good discount. We also hire out castles at short notice so if you have been let down by another company, we may be able to help you. We also do over night hires. I had a letter from Matters Consulting Ltd, t/a Survey UK, based in Cheltenham today. It was a piece of paper saying, "Congratulations this number (a hand written number) has drawn one of the gifts donated by local business. Total value of gifts exceed Ј32,500". Thought it was a bit odd but as I'd done a couple of surveys recently, perhaps it was something to do with that. Anyway, I rang the number (01908) and my "gift" turned out to be a years membership of the gym in the Agora Centre in Wolverton worth Ј750!!! (What gym charges Ј62.50/month for single membership?) The beauty of it was, to take advantage of this "gift" I needed to pay Ј3.81/week . Something didn't quite add up so I declined my "gift". It was then suggested to me, if I had a friend who was more interested in keeping fit I could pass the voucher on to them.
If you get one of these I'd suggest don't open - just return to sender. - I've just been (this morning, in fact... the joys of a day off of work) and had my eyebrows threaded. It took me a while to find somewhere in MK that did it, but boy, I'm glad that I have.
I went to the Beauty Clinic based in Bourton Mill Health Club at Shenley (the old Dolphin Splashdown to us old-timers!). Bhavna runs the clinic out of three small rooms upstairs, and I was a bit wary, a) of what I presumed would be an expensive trip, and b) having it done!
I needn't have worried - Bhavna is lovely, and the threading wasn't as bad as I thought. She was very helpful, offering advice and suggestions not only about threading but about my skincare in general (and for Mothering Sunday which is on its way!). It was quick - not *too* painless and I was out in 15mins. All for the bargain of Ј6. There was no high pressure sales, no "oh, whilst you're here, have you considered..." - it was very relaxed and I didn't come away feeling guilty for not booking more treatments there and then.
Anyway, following my visit I thought I'd make you aware of her presence, and her website (sounds like I'm promoting it, but I'm not trying to!); Beauty Clinic MK. Her latest price list is on there and she also told me to keep an eye on the website as she's not sure what's happening with Bourton Mill and whether she'll stay there or not. I hope for our sake she stays in MK! - I received one of those letters about 2 weeks ago now. Realised it was obviously a load of tosh and threw it away. Glad I didn't bother calling now
